Camping : 24 RV Sites
At present, they have need of people to come and help cut down
about 20 trees that were damaged in the last hurricane. They have the
necessary tools (chainsaws, axes, ropes, etc.) just need man power to
get the job done.
They will also have openings for people to help in
the summer in kitchen-dining area and cleaning departments for summer
camps in June-1st week of August. They are also wanting to do a floor
tiling project on their main admin building next winter. This would be
with ceramic tile and grouting.

Directions: exit 120 off of I-10, proceed north on Hwy 77 for approximately 13 miles. Turn right on Hwy 2 East (first light) until you reach College Drive (First Methodist Church on right). Turn left on College— proceed for several blocks, BCF is on the right.

Project Type: Conference Center renovations/ upkeep Project Description: Tasks are general maintenance for the facility, requiring little/no skills (cleaning, food serving) to moderate (caulking, trimming, picnic table building, etc.)
We do maintenance throughout the year, except during the summer camp season (1 June- 9 Aug). During this time we stop all maintenance projects and utilize any volunteers willing to cook for, serve, and clean-up after camper’s meals. We serve three meals each day (Breakfast 8 AM, Lunch 12 PM, Dinner 5:30 PM) Volunteers Support: Lodging Provided (TBD) No Showers available. Yes Kitchen. No Laundry.

WORK DESCRIPTION:
FIRST PHASE (non-permit required repairs);
Some new construction but the rest is repair/replace. Need electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting 2-story exterior, drywall and tile work. Basement was flooded during another hurricane. Window and door repair or replacement. Fence Installation. Mold remediation from water intrusion in basement and windows. SECOND PHASE (permit required items-permit has been issued);
Finish metal roof over new covered porch, railings on porch, and roof over the exterior basement steps.
Sidewalks to be extended from porch to parking lot and ADA ramp.
CCOMODATIONS:
Three RV full hookups at sister church 15 minutes away. (Two 30amp, one 50amp.) Possibility of small RV to hook up to Electric/Water at Parsonage and neighbor’s home.
MEALS: Occasional meals and snacks supplied by church members.
